Where to Route a Question
- For a current county-custody question, call the detention center or check the SCSO roster.
- For a booking sheet, admit/release record, charge or bond entry, or booking photo, ask SCSO Records for an existing record. Give the full name, approximate date, arresting agency, and booking number if known. No local photo fee or turnaround was posted, so ask before processing.
- For a Laurinburg police report, use the Laurinburg Police Records Division, 303 West Church Street, Laurinburg, NC 28352, non-emergency 910-276-3211, weekday records hours 9 a.m.–5 p.m. The police pages reviewed did not show a routine public arrest or mugshot log.
- For a Maxton city record, start with the Town of Maxton, 910-844-5231, clerk@ci.maxton.nc.us. State whether the event was on the Scotland or Robeson side.
- For a Wagram booking, start with SCSO because the town says public safety is provided by the Sheriff’s Office. The portal may still show a Wagram Police Department agency label, so copy the exact label into a request.
- For the later case result, contact the Scotland County Clerk of Court at 910-266-4400 or use the North Carolina Judicial Branch request route.
- For a sentenced state prisoner or person under state supervision, use NCDAC. It does not hold local jail records.
- For federal or immigration custody, use the BOP locator or ICE locator.
Before Sending a Request
North Carolina General Statute §132-1 is the starting public-record authority, but §132-1.4 and other rules can restrict investigative, juvenile, sealed, expunged, victim, medical, or security material. Ask for the precise existing record and request the legal basis for any withholding. A booking remains an accusation, not a conviction.
The SCSO Records page is the best place to confirm current staff routing before sending sensitive details.
